Business Leader Lends Support to Foundation

Hicham Adra applies his leadership skills to all aspects of his life- whether it is at the office or within his community. Hicham, CGI's Senior Vice-President for the National Capital Region, has been a dedicated community leader for many years, and is now directing his volunteer energies into helping The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.

Hicham has been actively involved with the Foundation for several years, including sitting on the Legacy Campaign Cabinet and, most recently, as Vice-Chair of the Foundation's Board of Directors.

"I got involved with the Foundation because I really respect and support the Hospital's work," says Hicham. "The Ottawa Hospital is the only institution I know that helps every person in the community, it is so far-reaching."

Hicham says that being a Board member has been very gratifying. "I definitely get back more than I give. The Foundation serves a unique function in the community and the people involved with it are incredible."

Among his most memorable experiences with the Foundation was the opportunity to take a behind-the-scenes tour of the Hospital. "I was so impressed by what I saw. Hospital staff members face life and death experiences every day with incredible professionalism."

In the end, his reason for volunteering with the Foundation is simple: "We all have loved ones that have faced health crises and I want to help, in some small way, to support the goal of excellent health care for this community."
