Dick Maloney Named Honorary Chair of HOPE & HEROES
Popular Singer To Make First Appearance Since
Accident
(OTTAWA, ONTARIO) – Dick Maloney has been
named Honorary Chair of this year’s Hope & Heroes, a unique
special event taking place at The Westin Ottawa on March 14th in
support of The Ottawa Hospital Rehabilitation Centre.
A 40-year singing career came to an abrupt halt last summer for
Mr. Maloney when he fell and broke his neck, leaving him a quadriplegic.
Mr. Maloney received extensive rehabilitation at the Centre.
Hope & Heroes, presented by Scotiabank, is hosted by the Ottawa
Senators Alumni in collaboration with The Ottawa Hospital Foundation.
Now in its 4th year, the dinner recognizes top community leaders,
(including a current Ottawa Senators player), and features one of
Canada’s top stand-up comedians, Cathy Jones of This Hour
has 22 Minutes. Mr. Maloney will be making his first public appearance
at the event since his accident, and will speak to the audience.
