THE OTTAWA HOSPITAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES EARLY BIRD WINNER OF THE 2004 OTTAWA HOSPITAL LOTTERY!

(OTTAWA, ONTARIO) –The Ottawa Hospital Lottery today announced Sergine Carrière (ticket number 022973) as the lucky winner of the 2004 Ottawa Hospital Lottery Early Bird draw. Ms. Carrière has won a fabulous prize package worth $81,301 including an all expenses paid trip for four to Cuba, a 2004 Ford Thunderbird convertible and Ottawa Senators season tickets.

Representatives of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation also drew the names of another 1200 ticket holders. The winners will get an additional lottery ticket, giving them an extra chance of winning a country home, jewelry or cash! The final draw for prizes including the grand prize – a home worth one million dollars, OR a $713,000 plus $250 000 in cash – will take place on May 19. A complete list of Early Bird winners will be published in this Friday’s Ottawa Citizen and Le Droit. The names of the winners will also be posted on The Ottawa Hospital Lottery Web site.

The final ticket deadline for The 2004 Ottawa Hospital Lottery is midnight on April 30. Tickets can be purchased by telephone at (613)783-9550 or 1-800-853-6955; in person at the Civic, General, or Riverside campuses; or at any of Ottawa’s major chartered banks. Complete prize information, lottery rules and details on how and where to order tickets will also be available at the lottery Web site, www.ottawahospitallottery.com.

Proceeds will help fund a number of improvements in patient care at the Civic, General and Riverside Campuses of The Ottawa Hospital, including:
• Doubling the size of the emergency departments and converting them into state-of-the-art facilities
• Doubling the number of beds in the intensive care units of the Civic and General Campuses
• Adding 17 new, state-of-the-art operating rooms
• Purchasing vital diagnostic equipment such as CT scanner right in the emergency department
