THE OTTAWA HOSPITAL FOUNDATION ANNOUNCES GRAND PRIZE WINNERS OF
THE 2004 OTTAWA HOSPITAL LOTTERY
(OTTAWA, ONTARIO) – The Ottawa Hospital
Foundation today announced Linda Dorigen, of Ottawa, (ticket
number 030744) as the lucky winner of the 2004 Ottawa Hospital
Lottery. Ms. Dorigen has won a choice of a million-dollar
home, or a $713,000-home plus $250,000 in cash.
Here are the names of other lucky winners of this year’s
lottery:
- Margaret Seaver of Ottawa (031351) has won a choice of
a $133,000-country home plus $100,000 in cash, or $150,000
in cash.
- Alan Exley of Ottawa (005827) has won a 2004 Ford Freestar
Sport valued at $40,733.
- Wayne Brown of Kanata (030672) has won a 2004 Ford Explorer
Sport Trac valued at $36,972.
- Bev Morrison of Ottawa (016213) has won a 2004 Ford F150
XLT valued at $36,679.
Media will have the opportunity to meet some of the
top lottery winners at a press conference today at 3:45 pm
at the Cardel Sales Centre, 72, Golflinks Drive in Stonebridge/Barrhaven
(From the Queensway take Greenbank Rd. South, turn left onto
Jockvale Rd. and then left on Golflinks Dr.)
Other prize highlights include six ultimate home entertainment
theatres with plasma TVs, $150,000 in jewelry, a Grand Canyon
Family Adventure, Caribbean cruises, digital cameras, Senators
tickets, a transparent kayak and much more.
A complete list of lottery winners will be published
in the May 21st editions of The Ottawa Citizen and Le Droit.
The names of the winners will also be posted on The Ottawa
Hospital Lottery Web site at www.ottawahospitallottery.com.
“Thank you to all those who bought lottery tickets
this year,” said Susan Doyle, President and CEO of The
Ottawa Hospital Foundation. “You have made a wonderful
contribution to improved healthcare in your community.”
Proceeds of the lottery will help fund a number of improvements
in patient care at the Civic, General and Riverside Campuses
of The Ottawa Hospital, including:
- Doubling the size of the emergency departments and converting
them into state-of-the-art facilities.
- Doubling the number of beds in the intensive care units
of the Civic and General Campuses.
- Adding 17 new, state-of-the-art operating rooms.
- Purchasing vital diagnostic equipment, such as a CT scanner
right in the emergency department.
This year’s Ottawa Hospital Lottery was bigger than
ever with more than 4,000 prizes to be won. Odds of winning
were one in 11—the best odds ever for any hospital lottery
in Eastern Ontario. It was also Eastern Ontario’s largest
charitable lottery ever.
