Charity Golf Tournament Raises $220,000 for New Resuscitation Bay at The Ottawa Hospital's Civic Campus

(OTTAWA, ONTARIO) - Members of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club (ROGC) today raised $220,000 for The Ottawa Hospital Foundation during their annual Royal Ottawa Golf Club Charity Classic Golf Tournament.

The funds will go to help build and equip a state-of-the-art resuscitation bay at The Ottawa Hospital’s Civic Campus; the project is slated for completion in 2006. Improvements to the Civic Campus are among the key initiatives supported by the Foundation’s five-year, $100-million Legacy Campaign.

“Thanks to the incredible generosity of the Royal Ottawa Golf Club members, the dream of a new resuscitation bay at the Civic Campus will soon be a reality,” said Susan Doyle, President and CEO of The Ottawa Hospital Foundation. “We are truly thankful for our community’s amazing support and its dedication to building a better hospital for our region.”

“It is a very proud day for the members of The Royal Ottawa Golf club to be able to make such a significant contribution to The Ottawa Hospital,” said Graham Macmillan, Tournament Chair, Royal Ottawa Golf Club Charity Classic, and Managing Director, RBC Capital Markets.

With its 1,130 beds, The Ottawa Hospital is one of the largest teaching hospitals in Canada. It provides comprehensive, high-quality, patient-focused health care services, in English and French, to over 1.5 million residents of Eastern Ontario, and specialized and complex services for residents of Northeastern Ontario.
